JTP vs. Pavlov

I’m sure you’ve all heard of the Ivan Pavlov experiment on how dogs can be conditioned to respond to certain stimuli.  For example, if you offer a dog a treat and associate that treat with the ringing of a bell, then eventually you’ll be able to set a dog to drooling with anticipation by merely ringing the bell.  In reading the comments on this blog, I’ve theorized that I could accomplish the same thing with the red-meat “no-information” faction of McCain supporters, and a negative commentary on Joe the Plumber.

I’ve observed that most of the negative responses on this blog seem to come whenever I comment negatively on any aspect of the man that the rabid-right have anointed their “hero”.  I’ve not determined the proportion of the negativity of my commentary to the porportion of negative comments I receive, so I’m going to conduct a little experiment.  I’m going to make a simple comment regarding JTP, and observe the reaction.

Joe the Plumber is an asshole.

The thing is that after today JTP is going to cease to be an issue. He can go back to figuring out how to pay off his back taxes. Maybe the whole campaign experience will trigger his creative side and we’ll see it expressed in his upcoming country album. In any event, I will not miss him.

    That’s funny.

What he should do is quit working and become an unemployed artist who can then collect checks from Obama, and also land a grant from Pelosi and Reid. Or maybe blow up some stuff, become a massive radical, then get a professorship somewhere and make some really big bucks. At least he’d get some sweet new sweaters.

  3. The thing that gets me about JTP is that HE’S NOT A PLUMBER, and his real name is Sam. He’s a fictitious character made up by the McCain campaign to represent a “regular person”. Everything about him is a lie. Go away Joe, just go away.
